Revised Recommendation

 

That:

 

(a)             the Council gives consideration to conferring the title of Honorary Alderman on former Councillor Jenny Wride, who has given eminent service to the Council over and above a Councillor’s normal duties.

 

(b)             subject to the Council’s approval of the appointment as in 2.1 above, the Democratic Services Team Leader, in consultation with the Mayor, be instructed to make all further arrangements necessary with a view to the presentation in accordance with adopted practice of an appropriate framed scroll and Civic Buffet on a date to be decided.

Minutes:

The Council considered a recommendation from the Leader that the title of Honorary Alderman be conferred upon former Councillor Jenny Wride.  Proposed by Councillor A Briggs and seconded by Councillor K Smith, it was

 

RESOLVED that

 

(1)       the title of Honorary Alderman be conferred upon former Councillor Jenny Wride, in recognition of her eminent service to the Council over and above a Councillor’s normal duties; and

 

(2)       the Democratic Services Team Leader, in consultation with the Mayor, be instructed to make all further arrangements necessary with a view to the presentation in accordance with adopted practice of an appropriate framed scroll and Civic Buffet on a date to be decided.

 

Mayor's Closing Remarks

At the conclusion of the meeting the Mayor took the opportunity to thank those members who would not be standing for re-election in May 2014 for their commitment and dedication to the Council and wished them well for the future.
