To approve the minutes of the meeting of the Standards Committee held on 12 December 2023

RESOLVED that the minutes of the meeting of the Standards Committee held on 12 December 2023 were approved as a true record and signed by the Chairman.

Report number HBC/075/2024 of the Monitoring Officer attached.

The Monitoring Officer introduced the report, outlining the total of 2 complaints that have been received since 1 April 2023; of which both have been resolved.

The complaints received to date show no pattern of bad behaviour nor do they show a common theme.

Following questions from Councillors the Monitoring Officer clarified that

-        Compared to other Councils, our complaints received are low.

-        This report coming to committee annually provides the mechanism to look at themes arising and highlight if training or support is needed.

Following questions and debate the Standards Committee RECOMMENDED the report on Code of Conduct complaints be received and any areas for further work be identified for inclusion in the work programme.
